Crater Mountain Trail

A very steep climb in Washington. The hardest 500 metres average 25.1% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 25 to 41 minutes. At 9.5 TEP it is harder than 78% of the climbs in the catalogue. Facing southwest, it takes the afternoon heat and melts out early in the year. Graded alpine hiking: exposed, rocky ground that needs sure feet and some use of the hands.
