Sterling Pass Trail

A power-hike climb in Arizona. The hardest 500 metres average 21.7% and start 702 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Northwest-facing, so it stays cool and holds snow late. Most runners need 16 to 27 minutes. At 2.9 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. It is graded alpine hiking, with exposed rock where you may need your hands.
