Mid-State Trail

Mid-State Trail is a short, power-hike climb above Harris Township in Pennsylvania. At 3.2 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. Expect 12 to 20 minutes. Its steepest 500 metres run at 25.6% and start 657 m in, so the worst of it lands when you are already committed. The path is graded easy hiking: the effort is in your lungs, not your footing. South-facing, so it bakes in summer: go early.
