Badstrasse

Badstrasse is a long, mostly runnable climb above Heiden in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. The path is graded easy hiking: the effort is in your lungs, not your footing. Its steepest 500 metres run at 18.7% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. At 2.8 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. Expect 42 to 70 minutes. Northeast-facing: morning sun, then shade for the rest of the day.
