Zermatt S climb

A short, very steep climb above Zermatt in Valais. The hardest 500 metres average 35.3% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 24 to 40 minutes. At 19.0 TEP it is harder than 93% of the climbs in the catalogue. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow. It is graded alpine hiking, with exposed rock where you may need your hands. The nearest named summit, Gornergrat at 3,100 m, is 475 m away.
