Ubehebe Crater Road
A short, power-hike climb in California. The hardest 500 metres average 20.7% and start 265 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. It faces east: sun early, shade after lunch. Most runners need 9 to 16 minutes. Its 2.6 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Graded as a hiking trail, so fitness matters more than footing.
