Scaffold Ridge/Oval Peak Trail
A short, very steep climb in Washington. The hardest 500 metres average 23.0% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 8 to 13 minutes. Its 2.4 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Facing southwest, it takes the afternoon heat and melts out early in the year. Graded mountain hiking: rougher ground where footing starts to matter.
