Hawk Watch Trail

A power-hike climb in New Mexico. The hardest 500 metres average 20.6% and start 872 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Southwest-facing: it gets the afternoon heat and clears of snow early. Most runners need 19 to 32 minutes. At 4.6 TEP it sits around the middle of the catalogue. On the SAC scale it is mountain hiking, with uneven ground that asks for some care.
