Ptarmigan Pass Trail
A short, very steep climb above Anchorage in Alaska. The hardest 500 metres average 28.9% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 15 to 25 minutes. At 7.0 TEP it is harder than 66% of the climbs in the catalogue. Facing southwest, it gets the full heat of the afternoon. Graded as a hiking trail, so fitness matters more than footing.
