Brunnihütte-Holzstein

A short, power-hike climb above Engelberg in Obwalden. The hardest 500 metres average 20.8% and start 371 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Facing southwest, it takes the afternoon heat and melts out early in the year. Most runners need 9 to 14 minutes. Its 2.2 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Graded alpine hiking: exposed, rocky ground that needs sure feet and some use of the hands.
