Alpstrasse

Alpstrasse is a short, power-hike climb above Obergesteln in Valais. Its 2.3 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Expect 12 to 20 minutes. Its steepest 500 metres run at 17.6% and start 806 m in, so the worst of it lands when you are already committed. Graded mountain hiking: rougher ground where footing starts to matter. It faces south: warm in summer, and often clear of snow when the slopes around it are not.
