Vasquez Pass

A long, mostly runnable climb in Colorado. The hardest 500 metres average 16.7% and start 2.6 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. It faces north: the shady side, where snow stays longest. Most runners need 44 to 74 minutes. Its 2.8 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Graded mountain hiking: rougher ground where footing starts to matter.
