Deep Creek Trail

A long, mostly runnable climb in North Carolina. The hardest 500 metres average 13.9% and start 4.0 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow. Most runners need 45 to 75 minutes. At 3.0 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. The path is graded easy hiking: the effort is in your lungs, not your footing.
