Kenyon-Devore Trail
A short, very steep climb above Altadena in California. The hardest 500 metres average 28.4% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 13 to 23 minutes. At 4.8 TEP it sits around the middle of the catalogue. North-facing, so it holds shade and snow longer than the sunny side of the valley. The path is graded easy hiking: the effort is in your lungs, not your footing.
