Cons Track

Cons Track is a short, very steep climb above Arthur's Pass in Canterbury. At 48.0 TEP it is harder than almost every climb in the catalogue. Its steepest 500 metres run at 60.1% and start 348 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Most runners need 28 to 47 minutes. Graded demanding mountain hiking, meaning footing matters more than fitness in places. Facing southwest, it takes the afternoon heat and melts out early in the year.
