Orsières N climb

A short, power-hike climb above Orsières in Valais. The hardest 500 metres average 19.8% and start 345 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. North-facing, so it holds shade and snow longer than the sunny side of the valley. Most runners need 12 to 20 minutes. At 3.0 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. It is graded demanding alpine hiking: exposed scrambling, where a fall would be serious. The nearest named summit, Mont Brûlé at 2,572 m, is 668 m away. It is part of the ACCUEIL | Verbier Ultra - 102km course.
