Grosses Moos

A long, mostly runnable climb above Saas-Balen in Valais. The hardest 500 metres average 22.1% and start 2.3 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow. Most runners need 52 to 87 minutes. At 2.3 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. It is graded demanding mountain hiking: expect sections where you watch every step.
