Altanca
A power-hike climb above Piotta in Ticino. The hardest 500 metres average 23.5% and start 1.5 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow. Most runners need 33 to 56 minutes. At 8.5 TEP it is harder than 74% of the climbs in the catalogue. On the SAC scale it is mountain hiking, with uneven ground that asks for some care.
