Ahornen

Ahornen is a short, very steep climb above Glarus Nord in Glarus. At 3.6 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. Its steepest 500 metres run at 30.1% and start 274 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Most runners need 9 to 15 minutes. On the SAC scale it is mountain hiking, with uneven ground that asks for some care. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow.
