Route de Rey
A long, power-hike climb above Vars in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The hardest 500 metres average 23.8% and start 1.9 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Southwest-facing: it gets the afternoon heat and clears of snow early. Most runners need 49 to 83 minutes. At 9.0 TEP it is harder than 76% of the climbs in the catalogue. On the SAC scale it is mountain hiking, with uneven ground that asks for some care.
