Schangnau S climb

A short, very steep climb above Schangnau in Bern. The hardest 500 metres average 24.5% and come almost at once, before your legs have settled. Expect 10 to 17 minutes. At 3.7 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. South-facing, so it is hot in summer and one of the first to clear of snow. The path is graded easy hiking: the effort is in your lungs, not your footing.
