American Ridge Trail
A short, power-hike climb in Washington. The hardest 500 metres average 24.0% and start 700 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Facing northwest, it stays cool and keeps its snow late into spring. Most runners need 12 to 20 minutes. Its 2.5 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Graded as a hiking trail, so fitness matters more than footing.
