Rainbow (Crest Section)
A long, mostly runnable climb in Colorado. The hardest 500 metres average 13.9% and start 3.3 km in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. Southwest-facing: it gets the afternoon heat and clears of snow early. Most runners need 46 to 77 minutes. At 3.1 TEP it sits in the easier half of the catalogue. On the SAC scale it is mountain hiking, with uneven ground that asks for some care.
