Brendstrasse

A short, power-hike climb above Saas-Balen in Valais. The hardest 500 metres average 20.8% and start 881 m in, in the middle of the climb, so pace the first part. It faces north: the shady side, where snow stays longest. Most runners need 12 to 20 minutes. Its 2.2 TEP puts it in the easier half of the catalogue. Graded as a hiking trail, so fitness matters more than footing.
